Why is it that the weather is always rainy and cold when there are funerals?

I wore the appropriate black clothing, traditional attire for funerals. A long black dress and cloak. Not particulary warm, and definetly not water proof.  I never understood why it was expected that everyone must wear black to a funeral. Its not a particularly flattering colour if you ask me. Unless your trying to look slim. But who would really be that fussed about they're appearance at a funeral? Funerals really are depressing enough without having the mourners looking like a pack of anorexic goths. Anyway, as I was saying. The weather of course, was cold icy rain, mixing into the tears of  all these people whom I had never known. Why were they even here? I'd never met them before. Strangers at my husbands funeral. What a perfect day.

I can feel her lack of emotion from here. The rest all cry, pouring out hopeless emotion. But she stands there, clothed in black just as the rest of them are, staring straight ahead...not seeing...not feeling.
