Daddy, in my garden...
where nothing ever grows.
I crawled through the bramble.
I went places no-one knows.
I found a grave.
I cried.
Daddy, in my garden...
where the flowers have gone.
I slept under a dead tree.
I looked up at strangled branches.
A noose swung in the breeze.
I sighed.
Daddy, in my garden...
where nobody goes.
I saw a lady, old and grey.
She looked at me and held a rose.
She beckoned me with bony hands.
I complied.
Daddy, in my garden...
where you never went.
I saw you lying on the ground.
Your eyes were sad and your shoulders bent,
over the body of a girl.
I died.

Always remember: you're unique, just like everybody else.
